easter biscuits

from a recipe in my good housekeeping 'the happy home - a universal guide to household management' book of 1955

4oz salted butter, 3oz sugar, 1 egg yolk, 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice, 8oz p flour

cream together butter and sugar, add egg and flour and spice to form a dough

roll out to 1cm thickness and cut out shapes

bake 20mins at 190c

daft isn't it? i was taught imperial measurements in home economics but metric in maths (hence the use of both above!)
