smores cupcakes

40z butter, 4oz soft brown sugar, 1 egg, 5 crushed digestives, teaspoon cinnamon, 4oz sr flour, bake 180c 20mins then turn the oven off
remove from oven and immediately plop a marshmallow on the top (we used american rocky giant mallows) then put back in oven for 3mins
remove from oven again and plonk a square of milk chocolate on each cake

really rather good indeed

another season...

we put the autumn decorations up today so lottie made autumn leaf cookies
3oz butter, 3oz sugar, 1 egg, 6oz plain flour, vanilla extract...mix to a dough then chill for half hour

divide dough into 3, colour one red, one orange, one yellow

take a piece of each colour to make a golfball size, roll out, shape into leaves, bake 180c for 10mins

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

ahhh i love this song (nat king cole), think i shall go listen to it right now...

on lottie's legs these have appeared

they are itchy beyond belief and driving her mad...add that to her not feeling too grand these last few days and i think we might have chickenpox?

they seem to be crusting so i feel this diagnosis is correct

black forest gateau

lottie loves bfg so she made her own

it ended up rather gargantuous!

she cheated and used betty crockers devils food cake mix, whipped double cream with vanilla extract and icing sugar (no kirsch in my house!), swirled a tin of red cherry pie filling into the cream and sandwiched the cakes together

a mighty 5 inches tall
