this is lottie's take on pillsbury funfetti cake

3 eggs whisked with 8oz sugar until pale in colour and double in size...melt 4oz butter and slowly pour into mix whilst whisking.....whisk in vanilla and 8oz sr flour...bake 180c 40mins

allow to cool then slice cake in half

melt a whole bag of marshmallows and use to sandwich cake halves together and cover top

yin and yang!

aren't they cute?

found these in a charity shop, 50p each...they are special plates for dippy eggs and soldiers

we love them!

tick, tick...

rather than lottie ask me every day "how many days until holiday?" we made a countdown chart (good old roll of wallpaper...always has sooo many uses)

and isn't it tricky counting backwards?

italian meringues

the girls love this bbc series and i found the new book at the library

so we made this and ate it with the biggest raspberries we've ever seen (co-op half price at the mo...£2 a punnet and very lovely indeed)

italian meringues differ from english because you add hot sugar syrup whilst whisking egg whites, they don't need long to cook (we just whacked ours in the oven after we'd cooked dinner and turned the heat off and left for 20mins)...produces a fluffier (less cardboardy) meringue
